CINEMAS’ GREATEST HEROES

GREATEST MOVIE HEROES

The hero is the character we come to the movies to root for.  What makes a great hero?  In screenwriting, there are certain rules writers follow to create unforgettable heroes: First, a hero must be a likable human being.  The audience must care about him and want to see him (or her) achieve their goal.  Heroes must have a strength and a weakness; a weakness they will have to overcome to defeat the villain.  Indian Jones’ weakness is snakes.  And when he finally gets in the chamber with the Ark, it of course is filled with slithering serpents.   Every Indiana Jones needs his snakes and every Superman needs his Kryptonite.  Here’s the top of the list for AFI’s Film’s Greatest Heroes.  Can you name their strength?  Weakness?
